Desmos Project
"How did you go about drawing this image? Well at the time i was really in to the Kona entourage. I am still am in the entourage but after I did the Demos project I with I did a more simple images like a bike jump or something simple. It took longer and demos is a lot more harder and it challenge me.
(Did you plan? Did you use patterns, reflections of curves? D
I used lines and some curves with in the frame and circles and for some of pivots and cranks. I did use different equation to make the bike frame . well what was hard was making the lines stop to make a bike frame and other figures.
Did you consult with peers/teacher?)
I did not consult with a teacher or a peer maybe if i did. I might have finished it if I had some help . No help equals not as good work and also i am fed up with school and i am done with school .
How did using Desmos and creating this drawing help you understand function families and their transformations? (Be specific and discuss two types of functions and what you learned about them - for example, discuss how you understand linear and quadratic functions.) (3-5 sentences)
Well a lot of the equation that I have is a lot of estimated on a lot of equation and some them do not quite understand all them but i kinda understand some but not all way . I do think i can do kinda understand .

Q1: What content/skills have been most interesting to you?
I have learned this year to be a problem solver and a lot new math skills also that my math is improving but my dyslexia is not. Also that I can use desmos next year to help with my algebra 2 and that I also learn that i need to improve on asking for help when its provided to me. My math has came a long way but it needs to be better.
Q2: How have you grown mathematically?
With knowing to find sides and equation to make circle need to be more aware with time. My math need help but i think i am on my way to success but i could really screw up and retake geometry then my skills went down in the end of the year; My lack of focas went out the widow so my math skills and work not be on spot.

Unit 3 : Volume, Surface area, MEASUREMENT
1.The content that has been the the most helpful is volume. Knowing the equation to figure out the problem and this helpful to being in a cabinet shop.
2. This has help me mathematically is learning how to find surface area and volume to prism ,prymaid .

Question 1. The work that I am most proud of is my pow number 1 because it work that tried to do good work that shows and presents my passion. Also when I try to do hard work it show and I think it has some thinking involve with this pow. My pow shows evidence in what I did.
Question 2. The thing that I am learning is trig and it can help me with carpenter work and know how to do it to get jobs too. Even being 17 and going to jobs with my dad since I was 3 I have seen plenty triangle and with learning trig I can really get jobs done faster and really be helpful.
Question 3. This has to do with ratio and triangle that in a table that show angle and measure meant to deal with tangent and cosine and just sine. Also seeing different triangle have comparison even having the same triangles with same angles. Then studing golden ratio then seeing ratio to numbers it

Problem of the week reflection
This pow has helped me in looking different sizing in ratio. We used triangles. I also am going to use this in my job if they need there house mathematically engage. But this gave me a different view on things to see ratio in different shapes. Also in different shapes we use every day with this ratio.

POW 2# PICK UP TRIANGLES
Problem Statement There are 4 rods and they are 6, 4,3, and 2, inches long. Also, there are an unlimited supply of extra rods. The length of the extra rods have to be whole numbers of inches , and none are longer than 20 inches. We had to find as many pairs of similar triangles as we could, while using all four of the given rods and any two of the other rods from the extra supply. Last question this POW ask us was How many similar triangles do you make. Process My process was a guessing game. My thought process was to have one triangle to have 3 of the main rods to make a ratio to a small to big or big to small. The question you have to focus on is ? Is this a triangle because different size can make a un finish shape. Solution I did not see as many as there could be. But I did get the process of it.But I heard from class that there 12 , 18 but I am letting it to be whatever. A New problem The new problem would increase the extra rod and it would be 0 to 100 and main rods would be bigger too. 2,3,4,6 , 10 , 12 ,13 and so on to 40 or so. See if there could be a table or a equation to it. And see if it park of the golden ratio and see if it can connect to a spiral. Evaluation My personal action to this problem was I first was interested in it but my interest went away and I wanted to do is write the write and get this pow over with. I did not see how many triangle I can make because it seem too much work and making saloon door in the shop made too tired and to make sure that I would write the write up. |
TESSELLATION
TESSELLATION PLAN
My first tessellation was cat fish but came out like shark like after my hands were smoked from a Down hill race run, Second time around I Thought to my self what if I drew a Orca on bottom of sheet of paper and and cut it out and it looked good to me and on the right side of paper I cut a triangle and put it on the left side of tile. It was representation of me with mountains for where I live now and orca for what was my favorite animal. Also being born Seattle. |
The idea my Tessellation is about me. It tells a story and has orca to say that my favorite animal is orca and my favorite documentary is Black fish. It also has a mountain with stream because I belong in the Mountain and I wanted to put a bike in there but too much of a challenge. Also I was born in Seattle and around Seattle is orca capital.
I use a square for the polygon part of it. I at first I trying to make a Catfish then i decided screw the catfish and do a orca whale because I kinda know how to draw a whale so it was match a orca whale. So I cut out a tall fin in it and then it was perfect to me for an orca whale In my opinion that Tessellation are both Art and Math. In Art case , tessellation have lines and contrast and it tells something or it tells a story. In math it could have a golden ratio the shape could get bigger inside the tessellation. I has lines and it can have angle in the shape. |
Burning tent LAB
Burning tent lab was a lab where we had to find the fastest way to get water to our burning tent. There a camper and river tent and there 120 degree angle. That the camper can go to the river to the burning tent. Also we were on the triangle part of the semester.
Q.1. The angle is simple like 120 Angle It the fastest angle to the camper to river to the burning.
Q.2. The angle is obtuse angle it looks long but it the shortest and fastest way to point and to the point.
Q.3. The measurement of camper to river is B= 6.37 and river to tent is C= 6.57 very closed to Equal.
SNAIL TRAIL LAB
This is lab is with certain points like A and b and you put in a hexagon that has 6 with different colors and went push the mouse and move it will make shape like in the picture below. It in basic in algebra it all in a graph and with moving points on it. It also just a drawing but with a math software. 3 lines of symmetry. It also has rotation of symmetry.
